Riverside County’s billion-dollar agricultural industry is booming.Temecula Valley’s most widely planted crop may be wine grapes, but it has always been an agricultural haven for ranchers, growers and artisanal producers. In fact, Temecula and other places in Riverside County are emerging as hotspots in the local foods movement. Ensuring healthy, safe workplaces in the agricultural and farming sector is key to continuing this economic success.

Unfortunately, workplace sexual harassment in agriculture is a threat to the well-being of farmworkers, and the integrity of the jobs and communities that depend on agriculture and farming for their economic vitality. Recent studies estimate female farmworkers face sexual harassment at a rate 2-3 times higher than other work sectors.

Many farms lack appropriate training and sexual harassment prevention programs. This sector, in particular, can benefit profoundly from in-person training and bi-lingual (English and Spanish) services offered by the team at Bridge Safety Consultants.

A new California law (SB1343) requires that every company, with at least 5 employees provide comprehensive training on sexual harassment, abusive behavior, and sexual orientation before the end of 2019. All business owners and managers, regardless of industry, must come into compliance with this new law, but it can be difficult to navigate all the requirements on your own. The law requires employers to provide at least two hours of sexual harassment prevention training and education to all supervisory employees and at least one hour of such training to all non-supervisory employees. Training and education must be provided once every two years thereafter.

With SB1343, there’s a lot to cover, from gender harassment and sexual orientation, to abusive behavior and bullying, to pregnancy and related medical conditions. Book the team at Bridge Safety Consultants to bring in-person or remote, comprehensive sexual harassment prevention training to your company now.

Thank you...  Brenda did a great job of keeping the employees engaged throughout the entire training, and mixing demonstrations and stories to explain all the concepts.  Both the Spanish and English trainings were wonderful.  I thought this was much more effective than the video trainings or in-house trainings we have done in the past.

Richard's training was once again fantastic! He really does an excellent job of keeping the group engaged throughout the training. I'm always amazed at how many compliments I get on the training after. In fact, our CEO joined the first training on Tuesday 9/15 just to compliment Richard on his presentation and how much he got out of it last year. Thank you again!

I have received many compliments about the sexual harassment training. The trainers were very entertaining and the employees appreciated that they provided the training in both English and Spanish. Your live training was a lot more enjoyable than virtual training.
