When it comes to all of the different forms of harassment that can happen on the job, sexual harassment is one of the most commonly occurring. Many may ask themselves, what exactly can be categorized as sexual harassment? The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) defines it as the following:
The unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favor and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when said behavior:
There is new legislation that’s been passed in the state of California that any company with 5 or more employees must deploy sexual harassment training for everyone on payroll by December 31st, 2020. The laws referenced in this article are AB 1825, AB 2053, SB 396, SB 1300 and SB 1343.

At the tail end of 2019 California laws were widened to require sexual harassment training for all levels of employees, from any entry level worker to the highest executive leadership roles. This new curriculum is designed to educate employees about the revised guidelines, parameters, and boundaries that fall under work appropriate and those that constitute harassment. The newly passed laws are designed to help cut down on instances of sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace. The biggest change to the requirement is that leadership and managerial employees must now take 2 extra hours of work more than the baseline requirement. This newly added training must occur within six months if there’s been a promotion or position change and then must occur again every two years after the initial training.
The liability of sexual harassment lawsuits has also shifted under this new legislation. A company’s legal liability for actions taken on behalf of all employees has increased meaning now more than ever sexual harassment training is a requirement for both state regulation and personal protection against lawsuits. To take action in educating your employees and preventing potential legal repercussions, the first step is to contact Bridge Safety Consultants or schedule one of our classes through our online portal. Bridge Safety Consultants’ courses are entirely unique in the way we engage employees through relatability and comedy. Our approach is to inform rather than to warn, to demonstrate rather than lecture, and engage our audience through direct question and answer both in a physical setting and through online learning. All I want to say is WOW, Richard was absolutely amazing and what a great job he did. He trained 759 People Yesterday
The employees have not stopped approaching me to let me know that this was the best training that they have ever had.
They said they were dreading this 1 Hour training, but how the time flew due to the Conversations/Teachings, as well as the interactions he had with the team during this training.
Thank you... Brenda did a great job of keeping the employees engaged throughout the entire training, and mixing demonstrations and stories to explain all the concepts. Both the Spanish and English trainings were wonderful. I thought this was much more effective than the video trainings or in-house trainings we have done in the past.
Richard's training was once again fantastic! He really does an excellent job of keeping the group engaged throughout the training. I'm always amazed at how many compliments I get on the training after. In fact, our CEO joined the first training on Tuesday 9/15 just to compliment Richard on his presentation and how much he got out of it last year. Thank you again!
Your training was the best we have ever had - on any topic! It's because the trainer kept people engaged and interested, and they learned much more than usual.
Thank You Richard for your amazing job! You make us laugh, learn and be proactive! Thank you again.
